MINISTRY OF HEALTH PUBLISHES LIST OF STRATEGIC DRUGS FOR 2017

On 10 March 2017, the Ministry of Health (MoH) published Ordinance No. 704/2017 which defines the list of strategic drugs for the Brazilian Public Health System (SUS) in the partnerships with private sector for transfer and incorporation of technology, the so called Productive Development Partnerships (PDP). The PDPs aim to enable the Brazilian public laboratories to manufacture the drugs that are provided by the MoH to the population in the public health system.

The list encompasses (i) eligible drugs for submission of new proposals of projects of PDP and other forms of transfer of technology; (ii) non-eligible drugs for submission of new proposals of projects of PDP and other forms of transfer of technology because they are already object of existing PDP; and (iii) eligible drugs for submission of new proposals of transfer of technology projects that do not involve PDP.
